Stage 5 Hospitality

On this site you will learn knowledge and skills about preparing and serving espresso coffee. Each page has videos and information which will assist you to complete the worksheet linked below. During the term you will have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate your coffee making skills to your teacher, solve customer problems and gain fine patisserie skills along the way.

There are six levels for you to complete in this unit:

1.  Growing, harvesting, processing and marketing of coffee all around the world

2.  Setting up your coffee area in anticipation of your customers orders

3.  Grinding and tamping of coffee, pouring a perfect espresso shot with a crema, and texturing milk

4.  Different types of coffee

5.  Make and serve coffee and if they have any complaints, be able to analyse just what has gone wrong with your coffee

6.  The cleaning of the machines to ensure the production of great coffee on the following day.
